The Power of Giving:

Unlocking God’s Blessings By Apostle Dr. Michael Mband In the heart of every believer lies a desire to experience God’s abundant blessings.

But what truly qualifies us to walk in the fullness of His provision?

In a recent message, I shared a profound truth that has transformed my own life and the lives of many: your giving is the ultimate test and proof of your love for God, and the key to unlocking His blessings. God’s Love Proven Through Giving John 3:16 reminds us: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” The greatest act of love was demonstrated through giving.

God, in His infinite riches, proved His love by giving us Jesus. Likewise, our love for God is proven not just by our words, but by our willingness to give sacrificially. The Test of Sacrificial Giving Many of us are comfortable giving out of our surplus. But have you ever given your entire week’s lunch money, your upkeep, or something that truly costs you? There were seasons in my own life when God asked me to give everything I had, even when I was left with nothing. Each time, God responded with a blessing far greater than what I had given.

The principle is simple: God will always respond to sacrificial giving.

Your Giving Pattern Reveals Your Heart If you desire to be blessed, examine your giving pattern. Are you generous with what God has entrusted to you, even if it seems little? The difference between lack and abundance often lies in our willingness to give. Poverty is not God’s portion for His children, but many remain in lack because they have not passed the test of faithfulness in giving.

A Call to Self-Examination It’s easy to blame circumstances or even God for our financial state, but the truth is, God cannot entrust us with more if we have not proven faithful with what we already have. If you want to see change, it starts with a decision-a turning point. When you turn towards God in obedience, it becomes your turn to be lifted, blessed, and shown mercy.

The Purpose of Blessing:

To Be a Blessing God’s covenant with Abraham in Genesis 12:1-3 was clear: “I will bless you… and you shall be a blessing.” We are blessed not just for ourselves, but to be a blessing to others and to advance God’s kingdom. If you have not been a blessing, you are not positioned to receive more. Blessing flows through those who allow themselves to be channels, not reservoirs. Practical Steps: Start Where You Are Don’t wait for abundance to start giving. Begin with what you have-your pocket money, your upkeep, your resources. Prove your faithfulness in the little, and God will entrust you with more. Remember, the only untouchable is your school fees or what isn’t truly yours; but whatever is in your hand, honor God with it.

The Link Between Wealth and Impact A poor church is a captive church. Throughout Scripture, every revival was accompanied by financial provision. God funds His mission through the generosity of His people. Poverty limits our ability to impact the world and even affects how we are perceived. The world may despise the poor, but God desires to lift His children into abundance so they can fulfill their mandate.

Conclusion:

Your Turn for Blessing As we prepare for our upcoming Covenant Day of Blessing and the Blood Triumph, let this be your moment of decision. Will you prove your love for God through your giving? Will you position yourself to be a blessing? Remember, it is never too late to turn and make it your turn for God’s favor. Let us be found faithful, generous, and ready for the next level of God’s abundance. Your giving today determines your harvest tomorrow.
