The Law of Skill and the Law of Love: A Message from Apostle Dr. Michael Mband

In these times when many are searching for the keys to success, fulfillment, and true purpose, the Word of God remains our sure foundation. In a recent message at Heaven Today Global, I shared on two foundational principles that every believer must embrace: the Law of Love and the Law of Skill.

These are not just biblical concepts, but divine laws that will transform your walk with God and your impact in the world.

The Law of Love: The Greatest Commandment When Jesus was asked, “Which is the greatest commandment in the law?” He answered in Matthew 22:36-40: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Beloved, this means that love is the foundation of everything we do as believers. The entire Old Testament-the Law (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy) and the Prophets (both Major and Minor)-is summarized in these two commandments.

In the New Testament, this message is fulfilled in Jesus Christ, who is the embodiment of God’s love for humanity. John 3:16 declares: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Hear this: Whatever we do for God and for others must be motivated by love. Without love, our actions are empty and profit us nothing.

The Law of Skill:

Technical and Divine Empowerment After love, the Lord led me to teach on the Law of Skill. Skill is essential for fulfilling your God-given purpose, and it can be acquired in two ways:

Skill Acquired Technically Just as we go to school to become doctors, teachers, or soldiers, the Bible gives examples of technical training: Genesis 14:14: Abraham armed his trained servants to rescue Lot, showing the value of military skill. Modern Application: Education and training are valuable and necessary for excellence in any field.

Skill Endowed Divinely Some skills are imparted directly by the Spirit of God, beyond human training: David: Though not trained as a soldier, David was divinely skilled in warfare and music (1 Samuel 16:16, 18; Psalm 78:72). He said, “You train my hands for war.” Solomon: Gifted with extraordinary wisdom and administrative skill (1 Kings 4:29-34). Bezalel: Endowed with craftsmanship for the tabernacle (Exodus 35:30-34). Daniel and Friends: Given knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom (Daniel 1:17)

Let me remind you:

Whatever the world can teach, the Holy Spirit can teach better. Divine skill will set you apart, empower you to solve problems, and fulfill your destiny. Walking in Love and Skill: Your Path to Impact I want to encourage you today: God can make you a solution provider, a leader, or even a billionaire if He chooses. The skills you need-whether technical or divine-are available to you through God’s grace. But remember, skill without love is empty. Love must be the motive behind every pursuit.

Practical Steps:

Pursue education and training, but also seek God’s divine empowerment. Let love guide your actions, relationships, and ambitions. Trust God to equip you for your unique calling.

Final Thoughts The Law of Love and the Law of Skill are not just teachings, but keys to a victorious life. As you walk in love and develop your skills-both natural and supernatural-you position yourself for significance in God’s kingdom and in the world.

Are you ready to unlock your divine potential? Let love lead, and let God equip you for every good work!
