Empowerment for Exploits: Unlocking Your God-Given Potential
By Apostle Dr. Michael Mband
Introduction In the Kingdom of God, greatness is not measured by what we achieve, but by what we are entrusted with—and how faithfully we steward those entrustments. In a powerful sermon delivered at Heaven Today Global, I explored the theme "Empowerment for Exploits," drawing from the teachings of Jesus to challenge every believer to maximize their God-given gifts for the glory of His Kingdom.
Achievements vs. Entrustments: The Kingdom Perspective
Many people equate success with personal achievements. However, in God’s Kingdom, the true measure is not what we accomplish on our own, but how we handle what God has entrusted to us. Our exploits are a function of our trustworthiness, not merely our abilities or opportunities.
Key Point: The limit to your exploits is not God—it is your trustworthiness.
The Parable of the Talents: A Call to Faithfulness
Jesus’ parable in Matthew 25:14-30 illustrates this Kingdom principle. Each servant received talents according to their ability. The master’s expectation was not based on how much each received, but on what they did with what was given.
- The servants who multiplied their talents were commended: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
- The servant who hid his talent out of fear and mistrust was rebuked.
Lesson:
Everyone is gifted. No one leaves God’s presence empty-handed. When Christ returns, He will not ask what He gave you, but what you did with it.
Trading with Your Talents: Profit Over Capital
In Luke 19:11-27, Jesus tells of a nobleman who gave his servants money and commanded, “Occupy till I come.” The focus was not on the initial amount, but on the profit generated through faithful stewardship.
- The servant who turned one pound into ten was given authority over ten cities.
- The one who did nothing lost even the little he had.
Reflection:
Are you using your gifts and opportunities to bring increase to God’s Kingdom, or are you hiding them due to fear or complacency?
The Role of the Holy Spirit: Love, Trust, and Empowerment
True empowerment for exploits comes from the Holy Spirit—the Spirit of love. Romans 5:5 reminds us that the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost. Love produces trust, and trust leads to faithful action.
- You cannot trust if you do not love.
- You cannot love without the Holy Spirit.
If you struggle to obey God or to serve with your gifts, ask yourself: Is the love of God truly in my heart?
The Holy Spirit empowers us to love, trust, and serve God wholeheartedly.
Practical Application: Moving from Spectator to Participant
Many Christians today are content to be spectators—attending church, receiving blessings, but never engaging their gifts. God expects us to be active participants, investing our time, talents, and resources for Kingdom exploits.
- Don’t bury your talent use it!
- Don’t just receive give back to God’s work.
- Don’t question everything—trust and obey, fueled by love.
Conclusion: Your Exploit Awaits
God has placed something unique in your hand. Your responsibility is to multiply it for His glory. The reward is not just in this life, but in the authority and joy that comes from being a faithful servant.
Remember:
Exploits in the Kingdom are for the trustworthy. The Holy Spirit is your enabler. Step out, use your gifts, and watch God do greater works through you!
